You're getting a "kernel panic." This can be due to either software or hardware problems. If hardware, bad memory chips are often the source. I would do an install/archive with your original install disks, update to the version of 10.x you're running using the _combo updaters_ downloadable from Apple's website (don't use Software Update for system updates) and see if the kernel panics disappear.
You should also reset the PMU for your particular iBook model (easy to do, instructions are on Apple's website for each model iBook) and "zap the PRAM" (hold down the command/option/P/R keys simultaneously at startup and let them go after you've heard three startup chimes in succession. I would do the PMU reset and zapping the PRAM first, then consider the install/archive. I assume you've already run Disk Utility to repair the disk and repair permissions. To do this properly, you need to use a copy of Disk Utility on another bootable disk (like your first install CD or DVD) or drive (e.g., your backup drive).
HTH and please let us know what happens. Thanks.

I ran disk utility and the following message came:
Verifying volume “Macintosh HD”
Checking HFS Plus volume.
Checking Extents Overflow file.
Checking Catalog file.
Incorrect size for file Microsoft Graph Toolbars (11)
(It should be 0 instead of 8589934592)
Invalid extent entry
Invalid extent entry
e volume %@ needs to be repaired.",1)
Macintosh HD
Error: The underlying task reported failure on exit
1 HFS volume checked
Volume needs repair
How do I repair it now? I have my disk, but I don't understand how to use disk utility on it.

Boot with the install disk that came with your Macintosh. Under one of the menus is an option to run Disk Utility to repair the disk. If Disk Utility can't repair the disk, you'll have to try DiskWarrior from Alsoft.
HTH and please let us know what happens. Thanks.
