hi,
my brand new ibook g4 seems to go to sleep when i close the lid. this causes all my network connections to close. is there a way to fix this?
my system is the newer ibooks with the G4 1.42ghz, 512mb ram built in. i am running mac os 10.4.2

There is nothing you can do about this, that is the way it was made. The Powerbooks can be operated while closed, but not the iBooks. There is a program Hack called Sleepless that will alter the firmware of the ibook to allowit to do this, but it voids your warranty, and you will have to make sure the ibook does not overheat. Use at your own risk.

i did a little search on sleepless program. it seems that its just an application. how does this alter the firmware? how does it work actually, do you know?

It is a application that alters the firmware, do some more research. Other that that I do not know how it works.
