I have installed MiCal, which is supposed to be a neat menu pull down for quick iCal info. However, I keep getting an error messages that says: "MiCal cannot continue until a valid calendar directory exists." The error message also instructs me to select from the MiCal preference panel a "directory where your calendar files resides." I cannot find that directory, even though I have been using ICal for ages. I've searched with Spotlight and with EasyFind and have tried a number of possibilities, but I have not found what they are looking for. Where is that directory and what is it called? Should I go through Application Support? Any suggestions? Thanks

You should have a directory
~/Library/Application Support/iCal/
... which may be what's needed.
However, MiCal's web site only claims to be compatible with iCal 1.5.1, whereas we're up to 2.0.1 now, and I think there were substantial changes in the storage format at 2.0 ... so MiCal's chances of success seem fairly small.

Thanks, Jack. I never thought to look into the compatibility issue. It's too bad, because MiCal looked like something that would be helpful to me. I apprecaite your help.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean: I hadn't heard of MiCal before, but researching your situation led me to instant interest, instantly replaced by disappointment! ;-)
We'll just have to watch for a MiCal update, I guess!
