TICKET ARCHIVE -> Ichat And Preview Corruption

Good day,

As of a few days ago I started having problems with these two applications. When I try to log onto ichat I get this message (or another similar one):

NSInternalconsistancyException:
Invalid parameter not satisfying aString ! = nil

When I try to open pdf files with Preview, the desktop icon pops of for a half-moment and then disappears without the opening the application.

I use both of these programs frequently, please help.

For Preview, trash the Preview Preference file (plist) located here;

User>library>Preferences

the file is 'com.apple.Preview.plist'

Bob,

Should have contacted you earlier about this, but my problem of not being able to open preview was never solved. I removed the "~/Library/Preferences/com.apple.Preview.plist" file a while back but it didn't solve the problem....any other thoughts?

Any way to reopen the case and hopefully get this application going again?

Remove that same preference file again, along with this one;

com.apple.Preview.bookmarks.plist

Then Repair Permissions using Disk Utility in your Utility folder and let me know if it works.
