TICKET ARCHIVE -> Ichat Av Cameras

Hi
I have recently upgraded to Tiger. I have Dual 1Ghz G4 with 1 gb memory. I have tried to connect a sony DCR -TRV33 digital video camera via firewire to use in ichat but Ichat keeps telling me "your camera is in use by another application". I used to get a picture when I ran panther. I have also tried this on a 600 mhz G3 iBook, with exactly the same result. Any ideas how to make this work?

Hi Brent

Uninstall Quicktime and it's plist files and reinstall Quicktime 7.0.1

Hi Bob,
I did that and it worked on the G4 but not the ibook. now I just get a grey blank where the picture should appear. but it appears to recognize the microphone of the camera but does not seem to process the video.

Look in the Preference folder here;

uswr>library>preferences

There are sevearl preference files (plist) associated with iChat. Trash all of them, restart the machine and try iChat.
