trying to set up a video chat with my buddy across town,she invites, I accept, comes back as declined, error-8 comes up,along with a large amount of code. We both have intelmacs. I wonder if it is the broadband network, or the actual cables. we are in New Zealand, which is apparently very much behind when it comes to broadband. another issue we have is the quality of sound and video. thankyou for your help

Error -8 refers to ports not being open somewhere.
Do you have a Router connected, or a Firewall turned on, or your Buddy?
If you do, the ports are most likely not opend for iChat.

thanks very much, Bob. there was an outage on Wed when some moron cut the fibre optic cable north of here, that will have been the problem.
