Is ichat safe to use in terms of external or internal network?
Is there any chance of people hacking into your ichat and view your chat internally and externally?

What sort of software used to sniff out all these? Finding information and reading all the chat screen on each user for whole the organisation?

Hi Louise

There was only one security flaw found in iChat, a link could be sent in a chat that would open an app on your machine. Apple fixed that;

September 16, 2004 - 18:59 EDT Apple today released Security Update 2004-09-16 via the Mac OS X Software Update preference pane. According to the release notes, the update "delivers a number of security enhancements," is recommended for all Mac users, and includes an updated version of iChat. The update is available for Mac OS X 10.2.8 with iChat 1.0, 10.2.8 with iChat AV 2.0, and 10.3.5 with iChat AV 2.1.
