I am having trouble staying connected with any buddies when I use my isight camera, and sometimes even the audio option. What might be the problem?
I have a 512 ADSL line in a rural location in Scotland and I am trying to chat with someone in the USA.
I have already tried:
1. repairing hard drive
2. downloading all the new updates
3. throwing out Icat and relaunching it
4. resetting the QuickTime streaming speed from automatic to 512 and then relaunching the ichat again.

My buddy has an isight web cam that freezes up her cursor and seems to be searching for connection even when she has force quit the I chat program. SO any advice on that one too?

Thanks Juliane

I MIGHT be a bandwidth issue i.e. your connection is dropping because there is not enough to do all that you want to do.

You would think it was automatic, but you can change the maximum video bandwidth setting of iChat in the preferences.

If you have a 512 Kbps line, I would recommend that you do not use all of that for your video - drop the setting to 200Kbps and then try again.
