Hi,

I have an iBook G4 (Early 2004) with 1 GHz and 768 MB RAM. Right now I have iLife '06 loaded onto it, with Tiger 10.4.9. In the Apple KBase it says that a 1 GHz G4 is the lowest for high-quality video editing in iMovie HD '06. Right now I have some movie trailers I am cutting into one file and it's _awfully_ slow, so rendering a 2 min file takes 5-8 mins etc... I need advice now: Should I go further, if iLife 07 will ever come out or should I stay? Might it get even slower with the newer software?

Thanks,
Ferdinand

Hi Ferdinand,

I have the same iBookG4 but had Apple expand up to 2GB of RAM. Apps such as iLife with iMovie, and such render clips much faster even with a CPU speed of 1 Ghz. So you might consider adding more memory.

Hopefully iLife 07 will be out soon!

Regards,
Carolyn :-)
