With all of my iLife06 programs, landscape pictures cannot be used or edited, however I can see the previews.
The software is new, purchased in August 2007. I am running OS X Tiger on a MacBook Pro purchased in August 2007 and the software came installed on my machine.

Have you run Software Update and installed everything available? Can the culprit pictures be rotated to portrait?

Software is updated and everything available is installed. If I rotate the pictures they are still not recognized. There are about 2 landscape pictures that are fine but I can find no difference in format or file size from the ones that don't. The ones that work were also not edited in another program.

How many photos are we talking about here? Can you open them in Preview?, or are they only problematic in iPhoto, iMovie, and iDVD? Have you been able to view them on other computers/devices before? Where did they come from?

I'm talking over 100 pics, imported from different media.
Some came from my own digital camera, some saved from shutterfly, some from my cell phone. However the select few that do work are also random from these same media.
They can be opened in preview, and previews of them can be viewed in iLife apps, but they cannot be edited in iPhoto or used to make a podcast in Garageband.
It's not also a select group that doesn't work, it's my entire pool of pics...I don't have that many on this computer.

One other thing that I forgot to mention is that they are all the same file format...they are all JPEG format; the ones that do work, and the ones that don't

I haven't a clue. Let's see if someone else does.
