TICKET ARCHIVE -> Illustrator 10-palletes have no information

Hi!
There are two problems with my Illustrator 10:
1)Some of the tools in the tool pallete are missing, and the other palletes don't display any information
2)also, if I try to open documents with linked images, the images are gone, and I can't re-link it again because it doesn't allow me to select any jpg., psd, or any other type of format.
Please, if could help me I would be really, really thankful!

Sounds like you need to replace your illustrator preference file. Search for illustrator and move the .pref file to your desktop temporarily. Then restart illustrator to see if your images and tool bars behave.
If they don't, try repairing permissions: apps/utilities/disk utility/repair permissions (do this regularly, about every two weeks, for best comp performance).
If that doesn't work we'll try something else.
