TICKET ARCHIVE -> Illustrator Cs 1 Keeps Crashing

AI CS1 crashes on saving, or opening or just about everything. Have re-installed it and it works for a little while. Have done the software updates, have ran Norton's etc., have done everything except stand on my head. I am using Tiger OS. Any ideas?
It seems to be affecting all of our Macs in our building, I'm not alone in this pile of feces. We are on a Xserve system and do not share copies of AI.

Howdy!
First off, especially in Tiger you must dump and never ever use Norton again. It's usefulness has passed with the introduction of OS X because the system keeps itself "optimized" at all times.
Okay.
Second, you might first try deleting your Adobe Illustrator preference file (search for illustrator and delete the .pref file for Illustrator CS--well, move it to your desktop and have Illustrator create a new one). Sometimes this fixes Illustrator issues.
Have you repaired permissions yet?
