I just Launched Illustrator CS and now some of my shortcuts keys dont work

for example, i cannot scale the image/vector image proportionally by holding the shift buttong and grabbing a cornor, i cannot use the spacebar to initiate the hand tool to move around the page and i cannot use the option key to do a duplicate of the image anymore...

I faced this before and re-installing Illustrator didnt seem to resolve the issue...

Can anyone help?

im on OSX 10.4.3 with 768 ram on a dual g4

The last thing I installed which I suspect is the culprit was Palm desktop. Which is odd because I have had Palm desktop installed with no issues before... Maybe I had it Installed before Illustrator...

I have deleted Palm Desktop Application and prefs and restarted.

Hi there,

Are you by chance using Microsoft Entourage for your email? If so, try launching Illustrator while Entourage is shut.

Let me know if this helps at all, if not we can go a bit deeper.

nope i run apple MAIL client.
I suspect my installation of Palm Desktop and the Missing Synch have corrupted my system. As these were the last things installed before Illustrator stopped working.

How do I make sure to delete all instances of a program that way I can do a clean install of Illustrator. I know on a PC I can just go into the registtry editor.

Can we go deeper into this to further uinvestigate?
