TICKET ARCHIVE -> Illustrator missing links and artwork

Hello. This is a new one for me. On a ibook G4 Mac OS 10.3.9 and Illustrator cs 11.0.0. I have been working on a AI for quite a while now, go back after a few days, open the file, all the links are gone! Not even missing or "couldn't be found", they are just gone! Also a lot of the artwork was missing. This is on my local machine, no one else has access to it. (i would have thought someone erased everything) Have you ever heard of this? I can't find a back-up or temp of it? Thanks!

Howdy! So you didn't move your images anywhere? Go to your links pallette -- any image links referenced there?

I'd recommend repairing permissions on your machine first, apps/utilities/disk utility/repair permissions.

Then you could trash the illustrator preferences (but don't delete them, just put them in the trash to make AI recreate them). Search for Illustrator and remove the .plist and .pref files.
