I'm a new Web-Master, but currently my company request me to do some brochure design and honest speaking I'm not in that field. I had done it in Adobe Illustrator, after finished and i saved it in .AI format, the size is around 2MB. Since my company need it in PDF format, so i saved it in pdf using the illustrator, the size was still big, ie around 2MB as well.

But my boss do not accept it, since the pdf size is too big. So, i tried a different method, that is directly convert it to pdf(right hand click, and save in pdf in the file's icon, not using Illustrator), but the resolution become very bad, the color become blur and so on.

I found out, there are alot sample brochures in Internet, and their size are small and the resolution are very nice.

Anyone know how can solve my problem? i was trying to figure out this for days.

I need to maintain the color graphic and the size will not more than 1MB.

Frendie,
There are a couple of things that you can try depending on which version of Illustrator you are using.
The first way that I would recommend is to save it with an Acrobat 4 compatibility and do not preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities (just make sure you save a separate Illustrator file.) I've done this with Illustrator files that were almost 5mgs and gotten them down to under 1mg.
The other thing you might want to try (if you are not using Illustrator CS or above) is try the print command. There is an option to save as a PDF instead of actually printing it. I would recommend that you try the first way, though.
