Click on the top item in your Apple menu (About This Mac)
That info window will tell you a few things
Click on the More Info... button
That brings up your System Profiler, which will will tell you almost anything you want to know about your computer and attached hardware
Mac Office? I guess you mean Microsoft Office for Mac?
Insert the installer CD, and follow the directions.
Most Mac software is very simple to install, and normally is done through the OS X installer. Double-click on the install for your software, and follow the directions on the screen. Almost all software will ask for you admin password before you can complete the install.
Let me know if you have more questions.

Did you check the About This Mac yet? You will find some of your questions answered when you do that. And, the More Info button will take you to the System Profiler, which will provide info on most of your hardware, and software, too. Give it try....
The Terminal uses a command line interface, and is compatible with a large number of common Unix commands. Most users seldom need to do anything in the Terminal, but you can find some information in your Mac Help files. Just open your Mac Help (from the Help menu), and click on Exploring Mac OS X, or enter your question in the search window, or just click on the Index, then browse through to the subject that interests you.
Another good resource is a large bookstore, where you can find good Mac reference quides, such as "Mac OS X, the missing manual"
If you really want to get into the Terminal - here you go!:

Again - System Profiler....
You can also Get Info for your hard drive, by clicking on your hard drive icon, then choose Get Info from the File menu.
Which do you have: an iBook, or a MacBook?

System Profiler.
Your Disk Utility will also show you that info.
Both are in your Utilities folder.
