Hi,
I may cry. When I went home last night and went to turn on my iMac, instead of the reassuring "bing" I heard REALLY loud static, the kind that you get from being near a radio with a bluetooth phone. I rebooted about 20 times over the past 12 hours, trying different things, and eventually got half of the "bing". Still, nothing loads on the computer, and the static is so loud, and the computer isn't responding to the keyboard at all, so even when I try to boot from the CD, nothing is happening. PLEASE someone help.
Much obliged,
Jill

Hi Jill

Hopefully the iMac is still in warranty or you have an extended warranty. You need to have the machine serviced to get it fixed.

Any idea what the problem is?
I will take it to the apple store, but I am just wondering what would cause this.

Jill

There's a known problem with Power Supplies in the G5 iMacs.
