Hello. I just aquired a IMac computer for my sick roomate that has OS 9.2.2 on it. I have Verizon DSL in my home & I need a way for her to access the internet with her IMac. Verizon told me that I have to upgrade to OS 10.1 to be able to do this. What can I do? Please help me. I hope this doesnt take 3 days to receive an answer.
Thank You

You need a router to share the one DSL line with two computers. Please check to see if your DSL modem is also a router(or give me the make and model so I can check). And tell me if the modem/(router) uses wireless or not, and if the two computers can use wireless?

They are already hooked up to a LinkSys Router. That is not the problem. It is the software on the IMac G3. Verizon explained that we need to upgrade to OS X 10.0. We are having trouble doing that because the IMac will not read the PC downloaded on disk from the internet. It wants to just use simple text mode instead of Stuffit expander.

I'm sorry, I don't know what a "PC downloaded on disk from the internet" means.
OS 9.2.2 is perfectly capable of accessing the internet - without any upgrade.
Can you please explain again what you want to accomplish? OS X 10.0 is free but nearly useless. OS 10.1 and newer are all paid upgrades.
