Computer Type: Apple
Model: Centris 610
RAM: 32meg
RAM Enhancer: None
OS Version: System 7.6.1

Description:
I'm considering buying an iMac, but there seems to be no easy way to transfer my data files to the new machine. Can I use the ethernet connection on my Centris 610 for this purpose? My manual indicates that the Centris supports Ethertalk Phase 2. Is this compatable with the iMac? Also, it appears that the Centris needs an adapter for its ethernet connection. Is this correct? Are these adapters still available?

Regarding ethernet networks, when connecting two computers together, is there a limitation on the length of cable that can be used?
