TICKET ARCHIVE -> iMovie imports film as one big block, it doesn't cut scenes

I tried importing a 45min film with iMovie, and thought that iMovie would break the film apart in multiple files. It didn't and it is quite annoying to find scenes again. Is there a quick way to autocut?
If there is a way to do it in final cut express, that is also fine with me: I just use iMovie right now, because final cut express seems to have problems with my camera. (Later I just copy the imported files and edit them in final cut express.)

If you have the movie and QuickTime Pro, you can open it there and cut it into segments and save them as separate files. iMovie works only with a compete clips (you can have parts of the clip included in the finish movie, but it does not clip movies).

nope, I do not have quicktime pro. Is there another way to do this?
