If you bought your Mac Summer 05 or later, then you won't be able to run MS Outlook. If you have an older Mac. then you might be familiar with "Classic". That is having OS 9 in OS X. Because Microsoft Outlook only works in Mac OS 9, you will need to have Classic. You can check if you have it, by going to Apple -> System Preferences (4th one down). In the System Area (where it says Accounts, Date & Time etc) you can see if there is the Mac OS 9 logo and underneath it says Classic.
Could you check?

Thanks,

Ferdinand

Paul, I'm sorry to say, but that is very, very, very bad. On the newer Macs, you got an extra CD that says Mac OS 9. If you have it, you can install it. Then when you normally start up your computer, and then download MS Outlook, and double click it, it will open. I dont want to keep you waiting with the link. So here it is: (It will automatically start the download, it wont go to any website before):

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/i...ress506ENU.bin

You will need StuffIt Expander from Alladin Systems. Normally it comes pre-installed. You can check in the Applications folder in your Home Folder. If you dont have it, here is the link to download that:

Hope this helps,

Thanks Ferdinand,
There was no OS 9 disc with my mac just two discs:macbook Pro mac OS X install disc 1 and 2.
Should I go the store and request it from them? Are they obliged to supply or can i download OS 9?
Again I really appreciate your great assistance.

Oops. I forgot you have a MacBook Pro... Paul, I am quite sure OS 9 doesnt work with Intel Macs. But, go to the store and check anyways. Maybe they have an extra CD for Intel computers too.
This is the name of the CD:
Mac OS X "Classic Environment" CD

Sorry.. but if they dont have it then you wont be able to run it.
Or do you have another Mac that is PowerPC?

Ya, it is. Sorry it didnt work out. But you could always print out the contacts, and then re-write it in Entourage.
I will close this ticket now and
Thanks for using MacOSX.com!
