Since I installed InDesign on my G5 it's been crashing randomly, either when creating a new document or when editing a text box. I tried it on my girlfriend's iBook and strangely it did much the same thing (although it's running Tiger). My old G4 runs Tiger and InDesign without any problems. My G5 is still on Panther. I've included the crash log below, as I've no idea what the hell it means and hopefully someone can make some sense of it, sorry its a but huge.

Howdy!
--Have you reparied permissions yet? apps/utilities/disk utility/repair permissions. --Have you restarted?
--Have you deleted the InDesign .pref file? Search for InDesign and .pref to find the file. Should be in Hard Drive/Library/Preferences
--Are you running any font software?
You didn't include the crash log, but honestly it doesn't do much good so don't worry about attaching it.

Tried all that and I'm not running any font software. I'll try repairing permissions again just in case, think it was a while ago.

You said the computer in question had Panther. Are you updated all the way up to 10.3.9?

Yup, I've had 10.3.9 on it since I got the machine I think.

Try booting in safe mode:
Restart, and hold the command (clover) and "s" keys till you see a black screen. Then type: fsck -f to force a system check.
Then type reboot to restart.
Hopefully this will shake loose whatever's causing the crashes.
Have you downloaded any other software or updates recently? Do you run classic while running InDesign? Do you save files to an external drive or server or just your internal hard drive?
