I have just acquired a Sony MZNH1 Hi MD Walkman. This device records minidisks in the ATRAC3 plus format. I want to edit these files on my powerbook using Mac compatible software. The only software I know of which converts the Sony ATRAC3 file format to WAV files is Sonic Ware, which is not Mac compatible. The only option I know of is to run the Windows-based software Sony supplies with the MZNH1 with Virtual PC, the Microsoft emulator. Is there a neater Mac software fix?

Welcome to macosx.com
I never heard of a possible ATRAC3 -> MP3 conveter (the Sony's response to Apple FairPlay DRM)
But perhpas by hooking the MZNH1 to the audio input port of the mac and recording the sound playbacked through software like Audacity
http://audacity.sourceforge.net/?lang=en
or Audio Recorder
