I have installed Tiger on a PowerBook G4 867Mgz system. Because of problems with the hard drive, I had to do an erase and install. Everything is working great, but when I went to load Hoyle Casino game it says there is no OS 9 Classic. I can't find it on the Tiger DVD nor can I install it from the original DVD that came with the PowerBook. (When I try to install from the original, it acts like I have the wrong disk in the drive and tells me to insert one that looks like the displayed image..then it ends.) I don't want to lose all the work I have already done. I do have an OS 9 install disk from an IBook install, but I am not sure how to go about doing this when OS X is all installed and setup.

Thanks.

Here's a page that covers the situation you have:

http://docs.info.apple.com/article.h.../en/mh763.html

Put the OS 9 disk in the drive, restart your Mac, holding down the C key as the article suggests, and just follow the instructions.

Well, that didn't work. Turns out my daughter's powerbook is a model that will not boot from an OS 9 CD. I finally found that somewhere on the Web. Older Powerbooks you could do that with, but not hers and any of the models newer than hers. Thank goodness she doesn't absolutely have to have OS9, she only had three games that she can do without. The other option was to reinstall it from the disks that came with her system, but that doesn't work either. So I am giving up on the OS9 part.

Guess this is Apple's way of making you upgrade all your software to OS X compatible versions.

Thanks anyway for your help.
