Hello,
To install a simple component go:
Install DVD/System/Installation/Packages.

What exactly you wish to install? Do you want to install the Remote Desktop Agent/Client? The Remote desktop administation software?

ruby

Well, I'm not certain. The other day when I started RDC it shows normal signs of starting, i.e. the Icon in the Dock flashes and then has the caret under it, but the app is not visible anywhere.

After a minute or so, it shows as not responding.

I don't know of any change that was made prior to the problem so I was simply looking to reinstall and then update the software.

I need this badly, since I use it for working from home constantly.

Thanks,
Jim

Hello Jim,

To start RDC, go to System>Preferences>Sharing

Click on Remote Desktop and press the Start button. Also, make sure everything is OK in the Access Privileges area.

I am not sure what is the application you are trying to start. Where is it intalled? Are you clicking the icon on the dock to launch it? If you control click the icon and choose Show In Finder, where does it take you?

Well, as I was ruminating about how to respond completely the light bulb went on and I realized that RDC is a Microsoft product by their MAC developers.

Downloaded a fresh copy after clearing my machine of all traces of the old and everything is fine.

Thanks,

Jim
