Hello. silly question, but please help....
I'm new to the emac, i need to install tiger 10.4 but can't get my dvd to start installing...
it seems as though its reading the disk but all i keep getting is a folder appear on the middle of the screen then it goes all white then after a few mins the folder reapears..what am i doing wrong ...?

Here you go:
1. Insert Tiger DVD in optical drive.
2. Restart the computer.
3. Immediately after you hear the chime press and hold the "C" key until the computer starts up from the DVD (gray screen with large dark gray apple in the middle and rotating gear near the bottom of the screen.)
4. After the installer loads proceed with the installation.
5. When you get to the screen where you select your destination drive, click on the drive for the installation, then click on the Options button. Select the Erase and Install option, then return to main window.
6. After preceding step you should see a Customize button in the lower left. Clicking on it will allow you to customize the installation by selecting or deselecting some installation options. Be sure to include printer drivers for your printer(s), as well as Additional Applications. You can deselect Asian fonts as well as any localizations you don't need.
7. After customization you are ready to do the installation.
Note that because you are currently using OS X 10.0.x you must erase the hard drive before installing a newer version of OS X. So be sure to backup anything you wish to save before installing Tiger.
