If you want to erase and start fresh, restart from the install disc again and choose Erase & Install from the installation options sheet. When you restart, you will be prompted to setup your user account anew.
If you simply want to use what you have with a new password, restart from the install disc and open the Reset Password utility from the menu.

What doesn't give you the option to restart? You can press the power button on a laptop or Control+Eject on any computer to spawn the shutdown dialog and choose to restart.

Notice the instructions on the disc. You have to hold C to tell your Mac to startup from the optical drive. Or, you can hold Option to reach a startup disk selection screen. In the beginning, the system automatically started from the DVD because the Install Mac OS X application set this preference for you (for itself).

does apple approve of the program that is able to run both macs os and windows and could you send me some kind of proof before i get stuck with oweing 100 and change
earthsaver - Apr 17, 2008 - 11:10 pm
Which one? There are several on the market, including Parallels, CrossOver, and VM Fusion. What do you mean by approve? Your Mac is supported by the developers. Developers are supported by Apple. But Apple doesn't exactly approve or warrant applications.
If you're concerned that it won't work, you might want to find a forum of users. You could also read about troubleshooting issues on
MacFixIt Forums. If you're worried that it will corrupt your data, read the read me and any assurances from the developer and others who have used it. Otherwise, please clarify your concern.
Apple makes its own utility, Boot Camp, that allows installation of Windows on a Mac, but not to be run concurrently.

so did i do something wrong by useing parealles and why does apple have parealles there ads in the magazines i get
earthsaver - Apr 18, 2008 - 10:54 am
Wrong? Magazine ads? Please elaborate. What magazines? What ads submitted by Apple feature Parallels?, which is not an Apple product. What are you getting at here? Please take a step back and tell me where you're headed.

The magazine is PC pro and the store is the macwarehouse and the reason is my friend is treating like a virus or spyware.
earthsaver - Apr 18, 2008 - 11:03 pm
Parallels is not a virus or spyware. Regardless, there are no self-spreading-infecting viruses, spyware, adware, or malware that work in Mac OS X. What is your friend's source to make this conclusion?

He is an ass and because of that i'm going to lose a job.
earthsaver - Apr 19, 2008 - 8:45 am
