Description:
I want to install MacOS 8.5 on top of OS 8.1
The requirement is 150 MB on the Hard Drive.
I have a Hard Drive and and an External Hard Drive.
On the Hard Drive:
Capacity: 332
Available: 48.5
Used: 283.5
On the External Hard Drive:
Capacity: 1001.4
Available: 880.2
Used: 121.1

Can I install the 8.5 on the External Drive?
If not, what should I move from the Hard Drive to the External Hard Drive?
Can I move I move the contents of the Hard Drive to the External Hard Drive?

Hi Gregory, welcome to Nowonder, I'm robertw.
You can move all your apps to the external hard drive and install 8.5 on the internal. Once the installation is complete, it won't take up 150mb.

You can also install 8.5 on the external drive.

Before installing, use Drive Setup on the 8.5 CD to update the disk driver on the internal disk. I don't know if your external drive will be supported with Drive Setup. You would have to try it, it will let you know. If not, you will have to get the latest driver for that disk before installing 8.5 on it.
