Following problem, I got here a Powerbook G3 Pismo where I replaced the original 6GB harddisk (IBM) with a new blank 40GB Seagate. I boot via DVD from my new OSX 10.4 disc can partition and install but the Pismo does not boot from the new disk alltough the installation went through without any problem also a disc check/repair showed nothing unusual. The new harddisk is a generic one not especially sold for Apple PCs.
Can sombody tell my what is missing there?

Thanks,
Chris

Did you have the 40 gigabyte hard drive in the Pismo notebook before you attempted to install Mac OS 10.4 Tiger?

No, the 40GB is brandnew and was never uses before neither PC or Mac. The installer recognises it 100% perfect but then after the reboot when finised the installation, the Pismo does not boot from it.

Ok what you need to do is run the Disk Utility from the installer

You need to format the entire hard disk, dont bother partitioning it if you will only be installing Tiger and arent concerned with space. Then run the Tiger Install, if this does not work than try perusing (i love that word) this page: http://www.apple.com/support/powerbookg3/ they should have something useful

Email me back with your results!
