OS Version: MacOS 8

Description:
Apparently I'm doing something wrong, when I try to install regular FREE QuickTime 3.0 on my mac to replace v2.5

I get a small rectangular window with wavy lines, like it needs a horizontal adjustment and some very clear printing off to the right stating it is QT3.0 by Apple.

The movie never comes up, and there is no way to quit, other than force quit [esc key] combination.

I've had to leave v2.5 on my hard drive to be able to view even tutorial movies from CD's

I would appreciate any advice you have to offer. I thought I knew how to install software, but this has me baffled.

Sincerely

macguru@mailecite.com

hi, leonard. im gary.

that is definitely not the standard installer screen for quicktime 3.0....
have you downloaded another copy? it does appear that 3.0 is still a
little buggy. i had to install my copy twice before it would function
properly. apple also has a readme file and a list of conflicting
applications on the quicktime webpages. go to
and research the quicktime pages. (and get your new copy while you are
there).

let me know if that fixes the problem. if not, send me an email,
and i will follow-up tonight with more research.
