Hi

This is probably so simple, but I'm very new to this. I recently bought an emac OS X (10.4 ). Last week I bought some cd games for my kid, and I asked if they were compatible with mac, and was told yes. However when I try to install, I get a message for all but one of them that "Classic can not find a Mac OS 9 system folder on the startup disk." It suggests that I install OS 9. I don't understand this. Is this always necessary? What do I need to do to get these games working by December 25TH?
Or do I need to go out and buy new games?
Please help me in time for Christmas!!

Hi Kathy

The games that say they need Classic are older games that only run in the older OS 9 system.

You can install OS 9 (Classic) on your machine. If you have an OS 9 CD, install from that. Then you'll need to update it to 9.2.2 for OS X compatibility.

You can buy OS 9 from these companies if you don't have it;

Those games may only require classic, which can be installed from the
10.4 System Disk that came with the eMac.
