I already have OS x 10.4.8 installed and working great for months. I would like to install Matlab now and I need X11. I found that X11 is on system disk 1, which is the same as the installation of the os. When i reboot to the disk I can get through and choose to install X11 but it will also want to install 2.5 gigs of system stuff.

So i guess basically, How do I install X11?

Thanks for your help, you guys are great!

Hi Brandon,
Have you looked in Applications > Utilities for it? If it isn't already installed, put the install DVD in, but DO NOT start the install. Instead, look for OptionalInstalls.pkg, which has the option of X11 in it.
