I have a 1.8 ghz PowerMac G5 running OS 10.4.11. I have currently been having problems with installations of software (so far, mainly 3rd party updates) It goes through the whole process or at least most of it and then it says "searching: Macintosh HD" and it stays there forever. The machine sounds like it's searching or doing something but it never gets to a result and finishes the installation. I'm currently trying to download the updates for TurboTax, and it just won't let it finish. Please Help! Anything would be greatly appreciated, and I would just like to commend macosX.com for wonderful support. I have gone to you guys whenever I have a problem and you always have an answer for me, so Thank You.

... just a comment that I've seen a *lot* of trouble just now with Intuit products.
Good luck!
Josh,
Are you using the program's update feature or did you download the update manually?
Here is the Turbo Tax support web site:
http://turbotax.intuit.com/support/k...update/35.html
They should be able to help you.

Josh,
What is odd is that when I search on TT's site with that error code, they have it listed, but nothing comes up but a bad link. I think they are trying to find a solution.
First, trash the update download you have.
Now go to Home>Library>Preferences.
Trash the TurboTax preference file. It may have the Intuit name.
Now open TurboTax and see if it will update correctly with the auto update.
If it still stalls, you have a couple of options. You can order the update CD from Intuit... or contact Intuit (email or chat)- here:
