I wanted to know if it's possible to upgrade the 14.4 modem that came with the Performa with a new internal modem that Global Village or any other supplier offers.

Hi Greald, welcome to Nowonder, I'm robertw.
No one makes internal modems for the Mac. If you want to use a faster modem, you will have to physically remove the internal modem and use the external modem port(covered up now). This port is inactive when an internal modem is present, so the internal must be removed.
