I keep all my application organized into folders, so my Internet Connect.app sits in Applications:Network, rather than the default, Applications. The last time I downloaded the automatic update from Apple, it must have updated Internet Connect.app, as I saw the icon in both my Applications and Applications:Network folder. I thought that if I simply copied the one from Applications to Applications:Network, overwriting the old one, that I would be all set. However, this was not the case, and I now have a non-working Internet Connect.app. Unfortunately, I just discovered this today, so my latest backup from this weekend already has the new corrupted file, not the old one that works.

How can I restore my Internet Connect.app? Thanks!

Hi Jessie

Any apps installed by Apple's system must remain in their default locations, or this can happen.

You can use

Pacifist to extract the Internet Connect.app from your Tiger disc.

Thank you, bobw. Another forum suggested the same, and I was looking for another way, as my original Tiger disc is an earlier version. Luckily, I just installed the 10.4.9 update, which restored my Internet Connect.app.

Btw, how do I view other tickets that may have been opened/answered for tips & tricks?

Glad you got it fixed.

Not sure if you can view other questions here. Check the links on the page you're on. If not there, then you would have to join as a Tech to see them.
