My new MacBook will not accept the security password for the wifi in my office.
It is a new set up and our 2 PowerBook G4's and iMac G5 are all logged on and working like a dream.
This MacBook sees the connection. I click on it to select and it then asks for the password. Each and every time it does not want to know. It is all in lowercase and the caps lock IS off. I have also entered it with 'show' ticked so that I could read what I have typed. My office manager who is much more efficient than me is equally stumped.
I have look around to no avail. Any suggestions?
Derek

I have now conneted by a network cable but have tried to logon at another site with Airport and the same problem. They are all using the same brand of Modem which is SpeedTouch from KPN [Dutch internet provider] It has been suggested that the KLM modems are problem for Macs. All three of my older machiine logon OK and only a problem for my Intel powered macbook.
I have tried setting up throug internet connect and through network diagnostics.
I like this little MacBook but this problem is a pain in the rear end [to put it politely] and I could go off of it!
Any ideas?
Derek

I have put my old modem back on at home and the MacBook works. I need it to work on the new modem. It seems to be working only because it is using the settings transfered from my powerbook when I first purchased the new machine.
Enter the new settings, WPA or WEP and it does not want to know. It sees to be a problem with the make of modem, which is the KPN Experian by Thompson.
Problem still to be resolved. Derek

I have installed an Airport Extreme update from Version Tracker. Whilst it apears a lot quicker leading webpages the macbook still does not work in my office. I home yet to try it with the modem I want to use it with at home.
If I put an Airport Express base station on would that be likely to get around the problem. That would connect to the Speedtouch with a netwok cable and the wi-fi to the Macbok.
Any thoughts.
