I just bought a PowerBook G4 with an Airport Extreme card. We've got a PC running XP, a cable modem, and a D-Link DI-614+ router. The PC is hard wired to the router and my PowerBook accesses it wirelessly. My problem started a few days ago, when I set up the two computers to do some FTP transfers by plugging the Mac into the router and using some free FTP software. I think that probably has something to do my problem, but I'm not sure. The problem is that my AirPort can connect to the wireless network with no problem and stays connected as long as I want it to, but I only have Internet access for about 5-10 minutes. Then I have to turn the AirPort off and back on again and then wait about a minute to get back onto the Internet. Could there be some hidden feature in the FTP programs (which I don't think run automatically) that set a time-out or something like that? Any advice you could give me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Have you updated to AirPort 4.2?, which came out last week.

I did, but I'm not sure it went through? Here's what it says in System Profiler for "AirPort Card" under "Network":
AirPort Card Information:
Wireless Card Type: AirPort Extreme
Wireless Card Locale: USA
Wireless Card Firmware Version: 400.17 (3.90.34.0.p11)
Current Wireless Network: love
Wireless Channel: 1
Do I do have version 4.2 of AirPort Admin and AirPort Setup in the Utilites folder, but those are for a base station apparently. How can I make sure I have AirPort 4.2?

You do, then, have AirPort 4.2. I don't know where further to point you, though. Sorry.
