TICKET ARCHIVE -> Internet Explorer 5.2.3

OS 10.4.2 ~ 1.5GB RAM ~ new iBook 12" ~
Fresh download _ never installed before- Internet Explorer 5.2.3
and it never loads....... force quit window reveals that it has stopped responding.

Safari is fine loads without issue.

Had the same issue on a G5 just Friday.
Purged any and all parts of Internet Explorer 5.2.3
Downloaded a new install and did a new install...... no joy
Ran a full suite of Diags, fsck/verbose/permissions/Techtool Pro/
Purged -Home/library/Prefs
Switched users...... same thing..... no joy
Overlaying install 10.4 Preserving users and groups
same...... no joy
? what up with "dat"

Microsoft dropped development for the Mac version of Internet Explorer. The upgrade to Tiger may have broken support for Internet Explorer, which is why it is no longer packaged with Tiger.

If you need some of the features IE offers that Safari doesn't have, I'd recommend you look into getting FireFox.
