I'm learning to fly my new iMac, and am quite new to this OS!
I am finding it difficult locate internet security suites that are compatible.
What kinds of security do you recommend, and how do I find them. Symantec only offers an anti-virus program, without firewall protection. Nearly all of the popular AV sites are only offering security for Windows.
Please recommend a good AV program and the site URL.
I bought Norton Internet Security 3.0 before my iMac was delivered, only to discover it is not compatible with OSX 10.4.6.
Any help, and information you can provide will be greatly appreciated!
thank you,
Jerry

Use your Mac's built-in firewall. You can configure it in the Sharing pane of System Preferences. It works great!

If you're really worried about a future of viruses infecting your Mac, of which there are none so far, download ClamXav:

There's really no need to spend gobs of money subscribing to updates to protect yourself from a nonexistent daily deluge of computer illnesses, as you had on Windows. That's why you got a Mac, right?

Thanks Ben!

You've really helped me. This is my first Mac, and I guess I'm still in a "Windows Frame of Mind". This computer is so awesome, and I still have no idea of what I'm doing! But I am learning!
I just listed the Norton Suite on ebay, hope I get some of my money back.
Thanks again!
Jerry
