When I go on the internet and try to go to different websites like
www.doteasy.com I automatically get redirected to some kind
of family tree website. Is this some kind of virus on my computer?

Hi William
Are you running Tiger using Widgets? The Weather widgets? If you are, try changing the address to another city.

Open Terminal (in Utility folder) and paste this in and hit return;
lookupd -flushcache
type - exit when done and then quit Terminal. Restart and try the web site.

The Terminal trick didn't work.
I typed lookud -fushcache
then I typed exit and I quit Terminal and Restarted.
No luck.
Still when I go to certain websites I get re-directed to some kind of family tree website. Even when I logout of OS X
and login to my wife's user account, I get re-directed to that same family tree
website.

'I typed lookud -fushcache'
should be 'lookupd -flushcache'
In any case, download Yasu (free) from here;
http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/21674
Use that to clear all caches, history and cookies. Restart and try.

Bob,
I typed in the correct command this time but
clearing the cache didn't work. Now it's getting
worse, almost every website that I try to go to
automaticlly redirects me to a website called
www.myfamily.com. Are you sure this is not some
kind of internet virus. This has never happened to
me in all the years I've been on a Mac.
I also have an old PC that I connected to the internet
and It does not have this problem at all.
HELP,
Any other suggestion?

Nope, already tried it in Safri and Explore. It didn't do the trick.

Look in the Network PreferencePane > Built-in Ethernet and see if there's anything in the server or search domain fields.
