I need to hook up internet access to 2 imac g3's from a Linksys router. I have contacted Lynksys and they told me I had to change the ip address on imac's. How do I do this?

Thank you

Dear Heidi,

My name is Vinko and I will attempt to assist you.

You did not mention which Mac OS you're currently running on your Macs. So I cannot tell you how to change the IP address of your iMacs.

What you really want to do is to set the iMacs to use DHCP to get their respective IP addresses, and to configure your Linksys router to be a DHCP server with NAT.

BTW: Linksys is not what I would have recommend and definitely not for a "layman of technology".

I hope this helps.

Regards,
