I did a backup of iPhoto using the built in backup. When finished, I had 15 CD's. The iPhoto help tells me that to read the cd, all I have to do is put it into my PowerBook and it will open in iPhoto. I have tried everything and my cd's will not show in the iPhoto library. What am I doing wrong? I would hate to have to pull all the photos off the cd's, with all of the sub folders and everything. Thank you!
Fr. Jay,
My name is Cheryl and I will be assisting you. When you did the back up burn, did you just copy the iPhoto Library folder to the CD?
Open one CD, and then open one of the folders. Can you see the images in thumbnails? If so, click on one, then go to the File Menu and select Open With.
A new window will appear. Select iPhoto.
Now iPhoto should automatically open all of those images.
Let me know if this works.

Fr. Jay,
What version of iPhoto are you using? Each version is slightly different and handles their library slightly different.
The next time you do a back up, go to Home>Pictures>iPhoto Library. Then just drag those pictures to the blank CD - for the OS to burn. It will copy the folders and images exactly the way they are.
Here is a step by step to use the Shared option. Rather than just send to CD, you should select Export.

After you burned the CD, did you trash the images from your hard drive or from iPhoto? If not, you should still have them in the main library in iPhoto.
