Hi Team,
I am running 10.5.2 on a powerbook g4 17".
At some point - can't remember when - iphoto stopped working.
When I try to start it up it just says - "the Application iphoto quit unexpectedly"
I have seen another post on this forum that suggests repairing permissions then deleting a particular file. This didn't work.
I have copied all the photos onto an external drive and then deleted them out of the iphoto library to see if it was a corrupt file. (I use RAW a lot) no joy.
Would love some help!
cheers
Steve

Hello Steve
thanks for using macosx.com and I will try to advise and assist you as best I can
OK - you've repaired permissions and trashed the com.apple.iphoto.plist and removed the pictures to a safe area and deleted the iPhoto library (no sorry - just the pics...) Try also copying the actual library elsewhere and trashing the library itself in case something is up with the iPhoto Library (you can bring the pics back in from the back up later if we get iPhoto running).
If that doesn't work consider reinstalling the iPhoto (you say you have a G4 PowerBook so I am guessing you have updated the system to 10.5.2) So do you have an iLife installer disk? Or was it an older version from the original install? If so what version of iPhoto do you have? Are you sure that it is Leopard compatible? If unsure you could consider downloading a new iLife version on 30 day trial and giving it a try to see if the simplest option is not just an update to the iLife Suite
OK let me know what happens... and I will try to advise you more with a bit more info

Thanks,
It is iphoto 2.0.1
I deleted the iphoto library all together and it will still not start up.
I have a leopard installer disk but not an ilife one.
Is it possible to reinstall iphoto from this disk I should I just buy ilife?...
Thanks for your help.

OK Steve
let's check the current iPhoto ... errr ... mine is Version 7.1.3 so I would feel pretty sure in saying that it is likely that he problem is that your version is just too old to make the jump to Leopard
I think the minor investment in a newer iLife would be well worth it...
Not only will you get a much more advanced iPhoto but much more than that...
