TICKET ARCHIVE -> Iphoto Original Folder

Hello,
I have found that using iPhoto to import images from my compact flash card using a card reader, my camera is set to Autorotate, so the ORIGINAL images are put into a separate folder, called Originals, while a duplicate is created with the rotated photo.
I don't need this waste of space, with duplicates everywhere. Is there a way to turn off this Original folder.
I would turn off the autorotate, but that would still mean that i need to rotate them, hence the creation of another Original folder.
