TICKET ARCHIVE -> Iphoto Performance

I have a PB 15" 1.67ghz with 2gb ram, and iphoto performance it horrible. I have 5K photos in my library. Most notable is when paging down or up in the library. I have to wait 15 seconds for the screen to page down.

Any ideas?

What OS version are you running?

What version of iPhoto are you using?

Have you downloaded and installed all the updates for iPhoto and the OS ?

Hi Cheryl,

I am on Tiger 10.4.1, iPhoto 5.0.2.

Everything is up to date.

Martin,

Go to Home>Library>Caches>iPhoto. Trash all the files/folders in there.

Now go to Home>Library>Preferences. Trash the com.apple.iphoto.plist file

Finally, go to Home>Pictures>iPhotoLibrary. Trash the Library.cache

Empty the trash. Now open iPhoto and give it a test run.
