I have a G4 running OS 10.4.2

It has iPhoto 2.0.1 installed.

I have tried to upgrade to later versions but:---

I have downloaded iPhoto 4.0.3 but installation on my Mac is refused because "Neither iPhoto 4.0 nor iPhoto 4.0.1 could not be found in /Applications."

I have downloaded 5.0.3 but installation stops with a red exclamation mark over the icon of my hard drive.

What am I missing?

Thank you.

Bud, welcome on macosx.com

Iphoto 4.03 is an update for iPhoto 4, so you can only applky it if you already have IPhoto 4 in your Applications
Iphoto 4 is part of the iLife04 suite which was bundled with some machines or... can be bought separately ;-)

And so..
Iphoto 5.03 is an update for iPhoto 5
Iphoto 5 is part of the iLife05 suite which is bundled with some machines or can be bought also.

So, I would consider to jump to iLife 05.. if you need other softwares in this suite.

However, Bud, iPhoto 2 is still a usefull tool (well, very basic, more a toy that a pgm) if you only want to handle photos.

For manipulating photos, Adobe PhotoshopElements or GraphicConverter (http://www.lemkesoft.com/en/index.htm) are more recommended.

Philippe
