I have a Mac osX And iphoto will not read my camera. i have taken it into the sstore where i purchased it and the camera works fine all the pioctures show up there. Then I take it home and nothing works again. Please help me. i was told to reinstall ilife but I do not have an ilife disk.
HI Dionne :-)
Thanks for getting back with the information.
I checked out the EasyShare/Kodak software (drivers) page at Kodak and I can locate the drivers for OS 8.6 but nothing above that. Did you install the drivers from a CD from Kodak or from their web site???
CAUTION: Dionne... did you install the software from the KODAK Software CD before connecting the camera or dock to the computer. Failure to do so may cause the software to load incorrectly. ????
Dionne... bear with me here, I want to make sure I'm getting the correct information. Go to this link:
http://www.kodak.com/global/en/servi...q-path=749/925
Now, where it says: EasyShare software I see the button for
10.3, but when it shows the drivers for Mac, it only goes as high as 9, which is the older Mac OS Classic. Site navigation is confusing to say the least.
One suggestion... til we can get your Kodak to mount on the your Mac desktop, have you got iPhoto????? It comes with the iLife suite from Apple Computer. You can use that to upload pics from your Kodak Easyshare LS420, and iPhot is a blast to use.
One thing is for sure, run Disk Utility and Repair Permissions. Disk Utility is in your Applications folder. Launch Disk Utility, select the "Macintosh HD" in the panel on the left, then click, "Repair Permissions"... it takes about a minute to run. That can fix a myriad of problems on any Mac.
I'm thinking it's your drivers that are causing the problem... ok.. I need to know if you installed the software from a CD or a download ???
Post back... we'll get this working!

HI Dionne,
After you did the Disk Utility, try reinstalling the drivers from the CD or go to this link:
http://www.kodak.com/global/en/servi...ml?pq-path=925
Click the button for Mac OS X 10.3.x and download the 28MB file. When the file is finished it will mount a .dmg file/icon on your Desktop. Double click that and then follow the installation instructions. Run Disk Utility and Repair Permissions. Reboot your Mac, launch iPhoto, and see if you can get iPhoto to recognize your camera. I don't think it's iPhoto you need to reinstall. I think you just need the proper drivers (software).
Let me know if this helps any...
Carolyn :-)
