I downloaded my photos to my laptop using Kodak Easyshare. I then imported them to iPhoto. I burned a disc of the iPhoto album and then put the disc in my desktop and imported the photos to my desktop iPhoto. They imported ok but all my other photos have disappeared. I cannot find them anywhere. What happened??????

Hi and Welcome to macosx.com!
I am Ferdinand and will try to help you with this problem.
Do you mean, that when you imported iPhoto photos, from the CD to the Desktop Computer's iPhoto, you had the photos, but the photos on the library that were there before, are now gone, so you now only have the new ones?
And when you said that you burned a CD, did you go to the album, then to "Share" and then to burn? Or did you make a "Burn Folder"??
A few more questions:
What OS is the Laptop running?
What OS is the Desktop running?
What iLife versions do the Laptop and the Desktop have?
Thanks,
Ferdinand

Thank you for responding and I am sorry for not answering more quickly. I was only notified today, even though I was told this was the second notification.
My desktop is OSX 3.3.9 with iPhoto 2.0.1
My laptop is OSX 10.4.5 with iPhoto 5.04
I am not using iLife.
I burned the CD from Share and then to burn. As I mentioned the new photos are on the desktop but all the existing ones have disappeared.
Thanks for any help.

Edward,
I have two more questions, then once I know them, I think I know what will fix this. So:
1: You wrote your desktop is OS X 3.3.9- With this, do you mean 10.3.3.9?
2: You wrote that you have iPhoto, but are not using iLife? How does this work? iPhoto is in iLife, or do you have a sepereate copy of iPhoto from a friends computer, burned to CD then installed?

Sorry--I meant that my desktop is OS 10.3.9
I am using iPhoto, iMovie, iTunes, iCal, etc. that came with the computer. I have never updated/bought any other iLife programs on offer. I misunderstood and thought that iLife would show up as an icon on my dock.

Oh ok. No problem- at first I though that too!
If you go to Pictures, then to iPhoto Library, do you see a file that is called "Library.iPhoto"??? There might be a second one. One of them is the Library you have now, with all photos missing and there might be a second file, it might be called "Library6.iPhoto" or "Library2.iPhoto"
If you find the file/s could you please tell me what they are called? Thanks.

And where, pray tell, is "Pictures"? Is that the same as Photo Library? If so, all that is there is the pictures I imported.

Sorry, I found Pictures---BUT it is hit and miss what pictures have been saved. Maybe 1 out of 20 and totally at random. HHHmmmmmm.
