I have a Kodak EasyShare digital camera, letting me take photos and short film video clips... iPhoto recognizes the photos, but not the film clips... I cannot get the film clips off of my camera and onto iPhoto. HOW do I do this? Do I need a Fire Wire instead of a typical USB cord?

~/applications/image capture

this is a little program used to interface with any imaging hardware (scanners, camera's etc.) if you didn't have iPhoto, this is what you'd use.

in this instance, it will be used for retrieval of the video clips. for easiest results, import and delete all the photo's into iPhoto first, clearing the debris, so the movies will be easier.

now, simply go into image capture, and hit download all. they should appear in the Movies folder on the finder sideboard. if not, then i'm not sure. it could be a hardware problem, or it could be a video format mac does not understand. do you know what format they are in?

What you suggested didn't work. I now think it is because I have an older version of iPhoto and a 4.0 megapixel digital camera. The iPhoto I have is only able to import 3.0 megapixel films. Unfortunately, I think I need to upgrade to iLife, but my little G3 iBook isn't "big" or new enough to use all of the components of iLife... I'm stuck.
