Dwayne,

Have you tried reinstalling the iPod software from scratch ie, not an upgrade? yes, it will erase everything from the iPod but it might be the solution. (Hopefully you have your music files, and what not, elsewhere)
let me know.

Regards,
Richard

Yeah, I put it into Disk Mode, but neither Disk Utility or the iPod application can touch it. It reports there is a process or file in use and you cannot proceed.

My fear is the hard drive is damaged. The Apple logo flashes every 5 seconds. It is like it is rebooting itself constantly.

Have you tried rebooting your system with the iPod connected?

I did once with the flashing Apple Logo.

When I say flashing I mean it appears for 5-6 seconds, goes away and then repeats.

I have not done it in Disk Mode.

I will try that tonight.

Thanks for the fast feedback.

Dwayne
